Welcome to my website. I started this blog in June 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic to keep my mind active. Writing helps.
Early in my career, I was trained as a property valuer and consultant. Thus, I chose to blog about property and investment topics. For most of my work, I specialised in the valuation of development lands and industrial and commercial properties for various purposes, such as sale, loan application, financial reporting, and submission to the Securities Commission. Additionally, I was actively involved in valuing lands under compulsory government acquisition, corporate marketing, and feasibility studies.
I have a BSc. in Land Management from the University of Reading, England (1991). A major part of the course comprised legal subjects: Land Law, Landlord and Tenant Law, Law of Contract, Tort, Planning Law and Compulsory Acquisition. In 1996, I registered for the professional assessment. By 1998, I had passed the Test of Professional Competence and secured my licences from the Board of Valuers, Appraisers, Estate Agents, and Property Managers, Malaysia (BOVAEAP). Although I am no longer practicing as a valuer and have returned my licences to the Board, I have the option to reactivate them if necessary in the future. Meanwhile, I continue to be involved in other capacities within the real estate sector.
In my blog, I hope to use my experience to share my insights and what I’ve learned with others to raise awareness and help them make more informed decisions. I aim to create an informative and engaging platform to discuss these topics in a way everyone can understand.
In 2018 and 2019, the intensity of issues concerning strata living lit a fire in me, and I felt compelled to get involved. I am thankful to the supportive team at StarProperty for allowing me to share my experiences and insights through a series of articles.
